Kay Francis, M.A. is the president of Steps
Beyond Enterprises, Inc., a management consulting firm offering web-based and on-site training programs,
human resources outsourcing, executive coaching, and consulting services to business, government, and industry in the
specialized area of Managing Change in the workplace environment.
Her creation of "GEM®",
a growth education model, was developed through a combination of her background as a
psychotherapist, entrepreneurial experience, and her extensive work and research in human
diversity and relationship issues. As a business consultant, Ms. Francis translates her
research into practical and proven applications.
Ms. Francis has appeared on national radio and
television speaking on subjects such as: Preventing Sexual Harassment and Hostile Workplace Environments;
Workplace Sensitivity; Building Effective Relationships, and Managing Change. She has
authored numerous articles pertaining to business and human relationships in the nineties.
Long before the names Anita Hill and Clarence Thomas became famous, Ms. Francis
program, "The Causes vs. the Symptoms of Sexual Harassment"was
widely accepted by business and industry as one of the finest training programs available
in todays marketplace.
She is the author of "GETTING
TO KNOW YOU"...The Intimate Connection", a publication
based on her "GEM®" model. Kay
Francis maintains, "Our society continues to focus on rehabilitation rather than
prevention. Sexual harassment,hostile workplaces and discrimination are only symptoms of a
far greater and more complex problem, and treating it as the problem will not make
it go away. We need to learn how to connect with ourselves and others in a
more respectful and effective way".
Kay Francis, M.A. is a licensed psychotherapist and business
consultant with extensive experience in management training, program development,
executive coaching, and public speaking. She holds a baccalaureate degree in Social Work
from Florida International University in Miami and a master's degree in Counseling and
Guidance from the University of Northern Colorado. The founder of the Center for Learning, Inc. in Fort Lauderdale, Ms.
Francis recieved a governmental appointment for the Florida State Regulatory Board of Clinical
Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy and Mental Health Counseling.
She acted as the past chairperson for the board, and is presently a member of the Probable
Cause Committee for the board.
She also sits on the Board of Directors of the National Girls Caucus and Peace Research Foundation.
